The bungalow is a colonial building built in 1907. It nestles in the hills of Pantiya rubber estates. Originally built by an English planter, Sir Francis Whitelaw, this bungalow has been fully refurbished, retaining its old world charm. Its comfortable and spacious bedrooms, extensive gardens with a swimming pool, magnificent views, interesting location near the south coast and the mild climate all combine to make Pantiya Estate an inviting property for families or friends.

50% deposit is required to secure the booking and the rest is payable before arrival. Payments can be made to bank accounts in Sri Lanka, Germany or UK.

Rates include VAT and all local taxes.

Food & Drink: Both Western dishes and Sri Lankan rice and curry are served at Pantiya Estate. You can discuss your choice of menu with the fantastic in-house cook who will prepare delicious meals using fresh vegetables purchased from the local market. Thambilli 'king coconut' plucked from our very own estate and fresh fruit juices are a speciality of ours! Food: Self catering from Rs. 6000 for hire of the cook for 3 meals. Meals from us will cost Rs.500 for breakfast, Rs.800 for lunch or dinner BBQ machine hire from Rs. 1, 500 per day. Food and drink will be served by the staff in the bungalow and all washing up, etc will be taken care by them.

The Estate and its surroundings: The extensive gardens are a haven for bird life and you can see numerous exotic tropical species just sitting on the Veranda. The gardens are filled with Hibiscus, Frangipani and Bougainvillea flowers. The views from this property are spectacular. Explore the surrounding tea, rubber and coconut plantation. The estate is a fully running and you can be part of experiencing the day to day activities of plucking coconuts, tapping rubber and plucking tea. You can also make a short trip to the tea and rubber factories where you can have an insight into the manufacturing process. Panitya Estate is a great place to do as much or as little as you want. Just chill out by the pool and watch the bird life, get in touch with the locals and enjoy your home away from home. The calm, serene environment of the plantation allows you to relax and get your mind off the rest of the world!

Transport: We can provide transport for your stay in Sri Lanka. We will provide you with an Air Conditioned Van with a reliable driver. We will work out the best deal for you! Please note that we STRICTLY DO NOT ALLOW DRIVERS to stay or spend time in the Bungalow premises. IF you have arranged your own vehicle and driver, only drop off and pick ups from the bungalow will be allowed. There is a guest house within 5 minutes from the bungalow where drivers accomodation and food can be arranged. We have a special rate for this, so please contact us to arrange this for your driver.
